  • BACK TO SCHOOL...

Elizabeth St. Cyr stated:  "Just like the commercial says, it truly is "the most wonderful time of the year"...that is when the children are back to school, and us adults return to organized, scheduled normality...Just when we finally feel like summer has arrived in its truest form, it appears that it's soon to be over. The start of the school year typically signifies the end of summer and the onset of fall...Roll on Indian Summer...I truly think we deserve it after the "summer" we have just experienced...if I dare even call it summer.  It's been a bit of an odd market too this year. When it's normally busy it's been quiet, and conversley when we expected quiet it was busy. No complaints here, at least there is still activity despite what the economists are saying.  Things will pick up again in the next week or two as people set back into their routine.  So don't think of this as the quiet time of the year, it really isn't - perhaps a tad quieter than the spring market - but definitely still a good time to consider selling or buying a property.  But for the next day or two the focus is on the kids and school. Enjoy!

"Things will pick up again in the next week or two as people set back into their routine."  Well said Elizabeth - things definitely will pick-up with school being back in and people returning to their "normal" routines! This past weekend, we had an influx of 4 buyers all at the same time - a good beginning to the FALL MARKET!!  Thankfully, Canada's and Altantic Canada's real estate markets remain healthy and consistent (unlike our southern neighbours).

I look forward to a strong fall with good weather!  Call our office today to get ready...

  • Seniors, Baby Boomers, Individuals with Disabilities

There are presently 3.8 million Canadian households over the age of 55 who control over 500 billion dollars of real estate.  This group will only continue to expand over the next 10 years.  As more baby boomers reach late middle age, the overall demand for “special” services will increase.  Special includes smaller houses or down-sizing, accessible houses, condominium living to decrease outside maintenance, or assisted living  arrangements.

The need for housing for individuals with disabilities exists in Nova Scotia. Since I have a degree and experience in Occupational Therapy, I am able to apply this knowledge to the present real estate  market.  Working with a team of professionals, we can find the right home for you.  Should you need an accessible design (dwellings that meet specific requirements for accessibility), adaptable housing (increased doorway and hallway width, adjustable countertops and cabinetry, no steps, electrical     outlets and light switches placed at more accessible heights, larger bathrooms, wall reinforcements for hand rails, and accessible baths and toilets), or a barrier free home (a home that has no physical barriers such as steps, curbs or other similar  structures that would present a barrier to someone in a wheelchair), we can work together to find an appropriate home for you.

  • The Changing Face of Real Estate Agents...

20 to 30 years ago, there were only a hand few of realtors working the HRM area.  Now there are over 1500 registered in the HRM and surrounding areas alone.  Those numbers are staggering.  But did you know that only about 1 in 5 of these new agents actually make it past the first two years?  Did you also know that the majority of realtors are on their second, third, or sometimes fourth careers before entering the real estate world?  It's these previous careers and the lifestyles that went with those careers that makes the realtor that we have today. We bring all our experiences with us...our well-rounded personalities and experiences that gives the best realtor possible.

Most of us are available full-time, many of us now team up so that do get a bit of time off for our families when it is needed.

We are here to help with the real estate transaction - yes we can help make the steps along the way alot more understandable and smooth!!

    WHAT'S GOING TO WORK...TEAMWORK!!!                    Give us a ring - Paulette (877-8851)
